Vine Holter Monitor
The Vine Holter Monitor is a compact, continuous multi-channel ECG recording device used in Australia to monitor
heart activity over an extended period (typically up to 12 days). It is designed for high patient comfort, allowing
wearers to easily continue their everyday routines.
Key Features and Usage
Continuous Recording:
Tracks the heart's electrical rhythm day and night to diagnose arrhythmias, palpitations, or atrial fibrillation.
No Wires/Bulky Boxes:
The device is typically a small, comfortable patch applied to the chest.
Event Tracking: If the patient experiences any symptoms, the patient can 'double tap' the device to record a symptomatic event.
Water-Resistant: The splash-proof design is suitable for an active lifestyle, though it cannot be submerged in a bath or shower.
How the Test Works
-
Fitting: A cardiac technologist attaches the disposable electrodes to the chest and fits the monitor.
-
Monitoring Period: The Vine Holter device is worn for the duration of the monitoring period requested by the referring Doctor.
-
Data Analysis: After the monitoring period, the data is downloaded and analysed by a cardiologist, with reports typically delivered within one business day.
